I love B&Q so much that it was the first shop my little boy ever learnt the name of (yes, ok, it's not particularly hard and it was followed pretty quickly by Waitrose – and there you have it - my retail week in a nutshell!)
He and I would both be inexorably drawn to the paint chip colour selector cards. Oh so much pretty in one space! We’d gaze at the plethora of colours trying to decide which colour to paint our wall, until one day I thought - why settle on one?
So that was the inspiration behind this print. A stylish and colourful update for any room, without having to get the rollers and dust sheets out!
Your inspiration for this colour chart print can come from literally anywhere. The deep red of the front door of your first house together, the baby blue of your child's eyes, the bright yellow shoes you wore on your first date, your favourite glass of wine, the colour of your favourite songs (Little Red Corvette? Brown Eyed Girl? Mr Blue Sky?)
We’ve provided a sampler image of 80 different colours to choose from. Or why not give us your own unique colours by providing us with the RGB or CMYK colour references (easy to do with the help of your friendly search engine!). To achieve the traditional "paint chip" look, try to follow a graduated colour range, going from light to dark, within a range of complimentary colours. Or go wild and have a bright and rainbow type effect by mixing and matching from all the colours.
The titles of your colours can be obvious, like our Chianti for a favourite evening tipple! Or more cryptic like our Elephant Grey (a trip to an elephant sanctuary on our honeymoon.)
If you want to include reference numbers as part of your colour's title, they could be references to dates. June 29th might be 2906, a Ruby wedding might be 73-13 to reference the passing of forty amazing years.
Available in A4, A3 and A2. The finished size of the A3 framed print is 38 x 49 x 2cm
