We're closing on a week that has included actual sunshine! I'd almost forgotten it was technically still summer. I hope you managed to find a window to enjoy it.
My Friday this week is based in Cambridge, more on that later, and it's been nice to drive through the late summer landscape as seed pods are bursting open and those fluffy seed spheres are everywhere! I used to call them fairies when I was a small, and now my small calls them by the same name.
Yes, despite the sunshine it all feels very autumnal. Somehow this inspired me to tidy my (creative, but messy) desk at the studio. Like a spring clean I suppose, but on the calendar opposite! Have you felt inspired to have a seasonal rejig anywhere?
Did you catch any of the Mercury Music Prize last night? It's one of my favourite times of the year as I always find new music to listen to from the nominees. This year, I felt like one of the cool kids because I already knew about Sault and have been obsessed for the last couple of years. And, if you like Sault, then you'll also love the solo output from one of the vocalists, Cleo Sol. Have a listen and let me know what you think!
Spoiler, but Sault didn't win the Mercury Music Prize. The fabulous Arlo Parks took that one home and if you haven't heard of her then definitely take time out to enjoy her beautiful voice and powerful lyrics.
We've been pouring love into one of our favourite products this week. Our travel memories print is a great way to capture the beautiful essence of all your travel memories and turn them into a work of art. We recently expanded the range to include 21, 25 and 30 place prints and this week added a new summery colourway. Did you know that most people decorate their homes in either a "summer" or "autumn" palette? Well, we had the autumn one, so a summer one seemed an absolute must!
And then, the wonderful Alice at Loveday Social created the most perfect animation for the product, we're in love with it! She totally captured the essence of the print. Watch it here! I'd love to hear what you think.
This week I hit the road, several of them in fact, and drove out to Cambridge for a full day with my fabulous business mentor, Jenny Pace. The early start meant I got to see the most wonderful sunrise, and then at the end of the journey, there were actual brownies. What a perfect start to a Thursday.
We mostly worked on my Christmas marketing plan (which you'll hear more about in due course), solved several of the smaller world problems, and drank a LOT of tea. It was epic. Apart from anything else, it was just SO good to be in each other's physical company, rather than over zoom. We're over it.
So many good things are coming your way this Christmas, you are definitely going to want to stick around!
Finally, if you're undecided about a course that you want to go on, or a skill that you want to refresh, or carving out time for that book you've been meaning to read - just jump in and do it. Time spent on yourself is never wasted!
